Thank you for visiting the Diocese of Gary Web site.  I hope it will serve you as a valuable resource for information about our parishes, institutions, and programs.  We are a community of believers who seek to live in the life and love of the Blessed Trinity and to continue Jesus’ mission of building the Father’s kingdom of truth, peace, justice, and love here in Northwest Indiana.

We are a priestly people, a community of ministers, a body of witness, worship, and service.  We participate in the three-fold ministry of Christ, who is Prophet, Priest, and King.  Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we endeavor to build the Body of Christ and work for the transformation of the world.

If you live in or near Northwest Indiana, I invite you to become actively engaged in one of our parishes.  The parish is where the people of God receive spiritual nourishment, education, formation, and the support they need to exercise the priestly ministry of Jesus in their families, neighborhoods, schools, and workplace.  The parish is where they come in contact with Jesus and the Good News He proclaimed in order that they might bring His love and message of hope to others.

My prayer is that your active engagement in your parish will deepen your love for the Lord Jesus, that you might be a bearer of His light, vessel of His caring, and instrument of His justice in our society.
