Nathaniel Edquist, 22, of St. Peter’s Parish (LaPorte), is a college junior at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Detroit. The son of Daniel and Janice Edquist, Nate is one of seven children. Nate attended St. Joseph School in LaPorte and LaPorte High School. In 2009, he started college at Indiana University, majoring in Pre-medicine. When he is not studying, Nate has been involved in soccer, track, playing in different types of bands, and reading suspense novels and about the Church. Camping, the Boy Scouts, and working at Camp Lawrence were also past activities. This past summer, Nate had his first experience of working in a parish, ministering at St. Casimir Parish (Hammond).
