St. John Vianney House of Discernment

St. John Vianney House of Discernment is a residential living program for men who feel a call to the priesthood. Located in an urban setting at St. Casimir Parish in Hammond, Indiana, St. John Vianney House of Discernment provides a potent environment to experience the rhythm of priests’ lives, the pace of rectory life, and the opportunity for a variety of ministries, including pastoral care to the sick and homebound, care for the poor and needy with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and ministry in the Hispanic community.
While they live in the house of discernment, men participate daily in the celebration of the Eucharist, learn to pray the Liturgy of the Hours, develop a schedule of prayer, and are encouraged to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
