Dr. Johnpaul Cafiero, OFM, Director of Family Ministries, Archdiocese of Chicago Physical fitness demands certain disciplines. So does spiritual fitness. In this entertaining and provocative presentation we will explore the components of a successful program of spiritual aerobics. The workout program is outlines in the Scriptures. Maintenance of fitness requires elements of our Tradition: prayer and fasting, the sacraments, and GYM stops- retreats, days of Recollection, Missions, etc. Attitudes for a successful workout include trust, ability to let go, being in a relationship, being peacemakers. bring your spiritual workout clothes and good shoes. Friar Johnpaul Cafiero, OFM, is a Franciscan Priest of the Sacred Heart Province of Chicago/St. Louis. He is a for-mer police officer who has worked as a counselor and chaplain in the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center in Chi-cago. He has also worked extensively with Adult Children of Alcoholics, both in private therapy and in the 12-step pro-grams. |
