A dean is a priest, appointed by the bishop, with certain authority over the common pastoral activities of a specific area of the diocese. Among his responsibilities are to meet regularly with the bishop; convene monthly meetings of priests within the deanery; visit each parish, the deanery; and to mediate, the first instance for the bishop, deanery matters requiring conciliation, priest-priest or priest-lay concerns. If you have questions regarding Church matters, your area, you are encouraged to contact your dean.
