Most Reverend Robert J. McClory, Bishop of Gary, issued the following statement regarding the continued wearing of masks in churches:
“The bishops of Indiana continue to monitor guidance from public health officials. For now, the general dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains in effect. In the Diocese of Gary, our COVID Liturgical Task Force continues to monitor studies and public health guidance and review possible modifications to our guidelines. Our current diocesan protocols (mask wearing, social distancing and sanitizing) remain in effect, unless otherwise noted.”
